09:15. First visit: AVIPORTO

It is a chicken fattening farm of considerable size that uses the most modern technology and operates under the strictest animal welfare conditions.
In order to contribute to improving the environmental conditions in the surrounding area, the farm has a facility where the manure produced on the farm is converted into organic-mineral fertiliser, which is marketed throughout Spain.

The company's activities are complemented by the distribution of rice husks, which are used as bedding in livestock stables in Spain.

A feed factory belonging to a farmers' cooperative in this region.


 

14:30 h.   Lunch in Antas de Ulla

Antas de Ulla is a small village on the Way of St. James
Lunch at a typical inn

16:45 h.   Third visit.  ARTELAC

Livestock farm that processes and markets its products with renewable energy.
It consists of:
Dairy and meat farm.
Artisanal cheese dairy
Organic free-range chicken farming.
