Workshop nº 07 - Land management and other measures against rural depopulation. Instruments and measures still to be developed.

The importance of land use as a factor in the sustainability of agricultural activity. The problem of land abandonment and its relationship to generational change and forest fires: How can extension workers effectively support these processes?


The search for solutions:
- Model villages, agroforestry enterprises, joint management measures.
- Agricultural banks, land banks, agricultural swaps.
- Instruments for the management of agricultural land
- Social policy. The need for extension services for their implementation.
- Innovation processes to bring knowledge to rural areas.
- Other measures to achieve sustainability

1. explanation and presentation of the topic by the workshop leader. The law on the reclamation of agricultural land in Galicia.
2nd - Presentation by the speaker 1: Strategic plan to combat rural depopulation. The case of Galicia.
3rd - Presentation by speaker 2 - The 21st Century Village.

Formation of working groups. The consultants, who will facilitate the implementation of the measures and show the landowners how to reap the benefits of the measures, will speak for 45 minutes on how to proceed. The results will be presented and discussed in the plenary session. Conclusions.
